Originally founded in 1976 as Owen Powell Architects, but with roots as a family firm dating back to the 1930s, our practice has been established for over 40 years, becoming a full service surveying firm in 2000. We are now an RICS Regulated practice, ensuring we work to the very highest standards. All of our professional staff are Chartered members of either the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), ensuring we work to the very highest standards.
Although a boutique, family firm, we operate internationally, and have worked on projects in jurisdictions as diverse as Hong Kong, France, Italy and the Caribbean. With several Lusophone members of staff, we also offer advice on real estate in Brazil and throughout the Portuguese speaking world, and are contactable in Brazil through our satellite office in Sao Paulo.
Closer to home in the UK, many of our clients at OP start off as first time buyers, who we help with advice when buying their first home.
Frequently, we have found that these first time buyers then come to us for expert advice over many decades as they buy second and third homes, remodel and extend existing properties, and sometimes build entirely new houses.
As a boutique, diverse firm we are also well placed to advise commercial clients, and have built a wide range of commercial properties over four decades, from shopping centres to office blocks. We also provide comprehensive general practice surveying advice in the commercial sector.
Our architectural department provides complete, high-quality architectural design and project management by experienced architects on a range of projects, from small-scale private houses to multi-million pound offices and hotels.
We also provide comprehensive surveying services, including structural surveys of almost any building, valuation work, party wall surveying, and enfranchisement advice.
